We are members of the International Fact-Checking Network, which guarantees full reliability and high substantive value of our reports and analyses. IFCN is an organization associating fact-checking portals, which ensures that its members meet the highest standards. The membership in the IFCN itself is not directly related to any additional funding.
However, the membership in the IFCN entails an obligation to comply with the IFCN Code of Principles, which consists of:
- COMMITMENT TO NON-PARTISANSHIP AND HONESTY
Checking the facts, we use the same standards for each article. We verify all sides of the political dispute on equal terms. In our analyses, we do not support or take political positions. Our editors and analysts do not belong to any political party, nor are we funded or supported by parties or politicians in any way.
- COMMITMENT TO TRANSPARENCY OF SOURCES
We want our readers to always be able to verify our findings by themselves. We list all our sources in such a detailed way so that the readers can repeat our work. The exception are the cases, where the personal safety of the source could be compromised. Then, we provide as many details as possible.
- COMMITMENT TO TRANSPARENCY OF FUNDING AND ORGANISATION
We are transparent about our sources of funding. If we accept funding from other organizations, we guarantee that the founders have no impact on the conclusions in our analyses and reports. Every grant we receive is presented on our website. We describe our organizational structure and legal status in detail. We clearly indicate to readers how they can communicate with us in order to make comments.
- COMMITMENT TO METHODOLOGY TRANSPARENCY
We explain the methodology used to select, analyze, write, edit, publish and improve our reports and analyses. We encourage readers to send us facts to for checking, we are also transparent about why and how we verify information.
- COMMITMENT TO OPEN AND FAIR CORRECTION
We publish our correction policy openly and we scrupulously adhere to it. We improve articles in a clear and transparent way, making it easier for the readers to reach our revisions.
- HAVE WE VIOLATED THE IFCN CODE OF PRINCIPLES?
