As an organization fighting disinformation, we strive to be as transparent as possible and apply strict and transparent rules defining all our activities.
Our Foundation operates according to the following principles:
- The Foundation is politically independent and free from external influences.
- The Foundation never endorses or publicly advises voting for any political parties or candidates for public office.
- The Foundation never concludes agreements or partnerships with political parties, nor does it engage in any public relations or similar activities that could jeopardise its reputation, independence or impartiality.
- The Foundation does not enter into an employment relationship with anyone who holds a paid and/or exposed position in a political party, government or state-owned or public enterprise under the direct control of a political party or government.
- The Foundation emphasises that statements made by its employees in the public space are identical to the Foundation’s position only when such communication takes place through the Foundation’s official channels.
- The Foundation’s employees are subject to strict anti-corruption practices, in particular the prohibition of accepting any illegal gratification in the form of gifts, favours or services on preferential terms in a professional context, going beyond commonly accepted courtesies.
- The Foundation is financed exclusively from sources that do not violate its integrity and independence, have no influence on the selection of topics and the method of verification.
- The Foundation may engage in advocacy activities providing that they are consistent with the mission of fact-checking or independent journalism and remain consistent with the principles of independence and impartiality.
